Welcome!
Perhaps you're down, anxious or feel the weight of the world on your shoulders. Maybe you're unsure of how to best support your child who is struggling with their own mental health. Or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead and have lost your self-identity since becoming a parent. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer you and your family individualized support to help. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and my job is simply to help you along this journey by guiding you and offering you direction and my own expertise. Whatever your journey may be, I am here for you.
Providing Access Across Alberta & Nova Scotia
Not local to Calgary or Airdrie? We can still help! We provide virtual sessions to clients across Alberta and Nova Scotia. Since the COVID 19 pandemic, there has been an increase in desire for virtual sessions and this has been a benefit to those living in remote locations or just to those who have barriers to transportation. Having busy lives and schedules to follow can make it difficult to make your mental health a priority, but it doesn't need to be that way! Using the Jane Online Portal, we are able to provide confidential, secure virtual sessions to clients from the comfort of their homes in any location across Alberta and Nova Scotia who are looking for support.
"Mental health problems don’t define who you are. They are something you experience. You walk in the rain and you feel the rain, but, importantly, you are not the rain."

Parenting Children & Teens with Anxiety ( FREE Webinar)
Individuals
Whether you are experiencing depression, anxiety or overall life stress and transitions, we are able to help support you through these tough times. Working together, we will establish what therapeutic approach will be most beneficial to your success. Offering support for a range of struggles including anxiety, depression, ADHD, stress, life transitions, grief, self image and more.
Couples
Things taking a turn in your relationship? Are you and your partner experiencing difficulties in your communication or trust with one another? Let's work towards a healthy relationship and get you back to working together, not against one another!
Families
Working together as a unit can create better outcomes for all members of the family. Whether you are struggling with behaviour, mistrust or communication, we can help get your family the help you need. Keeping in mind that each family member has their own individual needs, we work towards gaining a better understanding of each other and the family as a whole.
Children & Adolescents
Children and teens are experiencing more mental health challenges than ever before. These can in turn affect their social lives, schooling, and relationships at home. If your child is struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harm, ADHD, or behavioural outburts, we can help. While the child/teen is the primary client, we collaborate with parents to establish working goals and skills which can be utilized outside of the session. Parents are the primary "therapist" in the home, and as such are the key to establishing support and change.
Perinatal Mental Health
For some, trying to conceive becomes the first of many roadblocks in the path to becoming parents. For others, pregnancy can result in loss, medical concerns, or sudden changes in mental health. And for most, upon the arrival of their newborn, a slew of new challenges emerge including isolation, relationship problems, low body image, loss of self image, intrusive thoughts and more. While the nursery may be prepared and clothes are organized, no one talks about the ugly truths about motherhood but we are here to help you be the best you can be for both you and your new addition. Group sessions also available.
Parent Coaching
Is your child or teen struggling with their mental health and you're not sure how to best support them? Have you received a number of emails or calls from teachers listing the "problems" they have identified at school and you're left speechless? We offer support and coaching to parents who have children with ADHD, anxiety, depression and behavioural concerns. There is no manual to parenting but we can help you navigate the needs of your child. By establishing an understanding of what your child is experiencing, we are able to work with you on coping skills and practical strategies to best support their ever changing needs.

Claire Benadé
Registered Social Worker
My name is Claire Benadé, the proud founder and owner of New Heights Therapy. I completed my Undergraduate degree (BSc) with a double major in Psychology and Sociology from the University of Calgary and then returned to complete my Masters in Clinical Social Work (MSW). I am registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers and the Nova Scotia College of Social Workers and have completed several training courses and certificates as I strive to ensure my own continued learning and growth.

My work with children, adolescents and families for the past 12 years has led me to gain insight into several settings including addictions and detox, criminal justice and corrections, child and family services, foster care and adoption, housing first initiatives and homeless shelters, outpatient counselling, health care and working within a school setting. Now that I am a mom of my own littles, I have shifted my focus. This combined with my previous work experience, has led me to finding my areas of interest in maternal mental health, working with children and adolescents, and parent support and coaching.
After identifying the gap in maternal health services, I have proudly established a therapeutic support group, Mama Mental Health, for new moms. This six week virtual group offers psychoeducation, opportunity for in depth discussion, and builds community and support among others who are experiencing similar things. My passion for helping support parents is only growing and more groups are in the works, so stay tuned!
